Health and Humanitarian Logistics Conference

In conjunction with the transport logistic Africa & air cargo Africa trade fair and conference from February 19-21, 2025, the Humanitarian Logistics Association (HLA), sponsored by Chemonics and Safaricom Business, will host the annual Health and Humanitarian Logistics Conference (HHL) on Friday 21st.  Leaders from the humanitarian aid sector, UN and non-governmental organisations, supply chain experts, public sector representatives and other key stakeholders will participate to share knowledge, explore innovative strategies and digital advancements in health and humanitarian logistics. Key topics will include: local procurement and manufacturing, last mile delivery, using AI for logistics, environmental sustainability and waste management, resilient supply chains and ‘green fleet’ management.

A key element of the Health and Humanitarian Logistics Conference 2025 include a unique opportunity for delegates to participate in two important visits to HLA partners, on Friday 21st February:

 Astral Aerial Solutions’drone services hub in Westlands, Nairobi. Delegates will be able to discuss the use of drones specially designed for applications such as humanitarian cargo air transport, medical deliveries, aerial mapping and imagery, aerial surveillance and security, emergency response, among others.

The session includes a 45-minute presentation and discussion on the importance and value of utilising drone services in crisis preparedness and response and for a range of commercial applications. 

ReltexLeihua Kenya humanitarian aid tarpaulin factory and innovative ‘Circular Economy Recycling Initiative’ (based at the EPZ in Nairobi) which is recycling waste from refugee camps. This initiative is supported by organisations such as IOM, UNHCR, IFRC, ICRC and USAID.  There will be a 45-minute presentation on the importance of local manufacturing, supply, waste management and recycling. Visit includes free return transport, lunch and refreshments. 

The conference  will focus on how collaboration can strengthen health and humanitarian supply chains in today’s digital landscape, fostering the power of knowledge to enhance our collective impact on global humanitarian efforts. We look forward to seeing you there.
