Information about use
Our site is operated by The Humanitarian Logistics Association (“we”).

Accessing our site

Access to our site is permitted on a temporary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw or amend the service we provide on our site without notice. We will not be liable if for any reason our site is unavailable at any time or for any period. We do not warrant that the site will remain uninterrupted or that any defects will be corrected on this site, or any 3rd party websites to which this site connects or will remain free of viruses or bugs.

From time to time, we may restrict access to some parts of our site, or our entire site, or to users who have registered with us. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) account information, a password or any other piece of information as part of our security measures which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping these confidential.

To the extent permitted by applicable laws, we will not be liable for any losses, damages or expenses of any kind including without limitation: direct, indirect or consequential losses, loss of data, loss of income, loss of profit, loss of or damage to property, or claims by third parties howsoever arising in connection with your use of this website; and the copying or use of any information or material contained in or referred to in this website.

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits liability for damages arising from death or personal injury caused by the negligence of The Humanitarian Logistics Association, any of its employees or its agents.

Viruses, hacking and other offences

You must not misuse our site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our site, the server on which our site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our site. You must not attack our site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack.

By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use our site will cease immediately.

We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a distributed denial-of-service attack, viruses or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your use of our site or to your downloading of any material posted on it, or on any website linked to it.

Information we may collect from you

– Information about yourself including your name, title and postal and/or email address, obtained when you register as a member.
– Information that you provide when you visit our site, make an enquiry on our site or request our services.
– If you email or contact us, we may keep a record of the correspondence or keep your message, emails address and contact information to respond to your request.
– We may ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.

IP addresses

This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual and we do not trade, rent or sell the information we collect to 3rd parties.

We may disclose your personal information to our subsidiaries. We may also disclose your personal information to third parties if we sell any business or if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, enforce our site terms of use, or terms of business and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Humanitarian Logistics Association, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

You may request access to information held about you. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.

Jurisdiction and applicable law

These terms of use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and each party hereby irrevocably submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
