HLA workshops

HLA is running a one hour workshop (repeated morning and afternoon on 29th November) at IDR, in conjunction with Logistics Learning Alliance. The subject is managing the humanitarian supply chain. The workshop will help attendees develop an understanding of the situations and places in the world where humanitarian aid is required and the objectives of humanitarian aid organisations, the role of logistics and supply chain management in supporting humanitarian aid in-kind programmes and examine how supply chain management can be utilised to stimulate the local market through cash transfer programmes. To register for the workshops, visit our events page: https://www.humanitarianlogistics.org/events/

With equipment and technology critical to many disaster response scenarios, the International Disaster Response Expo will showcase many of the solutions and innovations that make responders tasks possible and hopefully easier and allow the response to a disaster to be quicker and more effective.

Admiral Lord West, a former UK Government Minister who chairs the International Disaster Response Expo said, “It is about time we launched a platform to showcase the superb work DFID, International Organisations, INGOs and industry are doing in this critical area that works for the global good. The UK leads much of the thinking and technologies in this area and I am excited to be able to launch this platform for best practice.”
