HLA has become a media partner with the award-winning Nineteen Events who deliver the rapidly growing International Security Expo to help promote a new major exhibition and conference, the International Disaster Response Expo. It will be co-located with the International Security Expo in Olympia, London and held over 2 days on 28 and 29 November 2018.

The International Disaster Response Expo recognises the unique position of the UK on the global Disaster Response scene; one of the few nations to meet its international obligation to spend 0.7% of its Gross National Income (GNI) on Foreign Aid and seen as a centre of excellence for International Disaster Response techniques, procedures and technologies.

A free to attend 2-day high level Global Disaster Response Conference will be the centre piece of the International Disaster Response Expo and will bring in an audience of key decision-makers from government’s, INGOs and industry.  Chaired by DFID (tbc), it will showcase the global skills and thoughts of an experienced international speakers across Government, Aid Organisations and the private sector, as well featuring  high level panel discussions, to examine many of the hard-hitting topics challenging everyone in the disaster response arena.

With equipment and technology critical to many disaster response scenarios, the International Disaster Response Expo will showcase many of the solutions and innovations that make responders tasks possible and hopefully easier and allow the response to a disaster to be quicker and more effective.

Admiral Lord West, a former UK Government Minister who chairs the International Disaster Response Expo said, “It is about time we launched a platform to showcase the superb work DFID, International Organisations, INGOs and industry are doing in this critical area that works for the global good. The UK leads much of the thinking and technologies in this area and I am excited to be able to launch this platform for best practice.”
