Webinar: what3words address system and the humanitarian context

April 28 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm BST

llHLA and what3words (w3w) are organising a webinar to explore how the innovative 3-word address system is being used in a number of  ways across emergency, aid and humanitarian operations in different parts of the world – including in refugee locations such as in Arua, Uganda.
what3words is a really simple way to talk about location. They have assigned each 3m square in the world a unique 3 word address that will never change. For example ///filled.count.soap marks the exact entrance to what3words’ London headquarters. 3 word addresses are easy to say and share, and are as accurate as GPS coordinates. From immediate post-disaster assistance to long-term recovery, what3words can be used in all kinds of humanitarian projects.
Topics to be discussed include:
1. What is what3words – how the system works
2. Asset location – Geo-tagging & communicating between different teams
3. Emergency / Disaster response – setting up teams to report 3 word addresses & respond
4. Potential use cases of w3w for COVID-19  (or other such pandemic) response
5. Giving physical 3 word addresses
6. Q&A
