CANCELLED – Webinar: Mapping for preparedness and response

October 9, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm BST

HLA is running a free webinar as part of its monthly webinar series on mapping for preparedness and response, given by Map Action. Maps can be a key part of the planning and implementation process for emergencies and increasingly, agencies are building visualisations into their workflows to support analysis. Maps are key where there is a spatial element to analysis; for example, how close are main routes to a specific hazard, and which main routes are cut? They can also have added benefits where visualisation cuts across different ways of describing features.

MapAction will be presenting on its experience of humanitarian mapping for logistics partners, covering the sorts of products it has put together and how these supported response, as well as discussing some of the challenges in providing spatial analysis in emergencies. It would be useful to understand any key questions or queries participants have regarding mapping or information management in response, or if you are keen to hear regarding any specific analysis and we can aim to address this in the session. Registrants will be asked to complete this short survey before the webinar:

The speaker is Emma Mumford, MapAction’s training and learning manager.
