We are pleased to announce that we are running a free of charge one hour workshop as part of our AidEx offering this year, in Hall 11, Auditorium Three.

The workshop is entitled Managing the Humanitarian Supply Chain.

The workshop will help you develop an understanding of the situations and places in the world where humanitarian aid is required and the objectives of humanitarian aid organisations, the role of logistics and supply chain management in supporting humanitarian aid in-kind programmes and examine how supply chain management can be utilised to stimulate the local market through cash transfer programmes.

The workshop is being provided by Peter Jones, MD of Logistics Learning Alliance Ltd (LLA). LLA is an internationally recognised provider of Logistics and Supply Chain and the learning delivery partners of the recognised Fritz Institute/CILT Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Certification Programmes (HLCP). Round table discussion – The Future of Humanitarian Aviation Services

Following our workshop, attendees are welcome to stay for a round-table discussion, facilitated by CEO George Fenton. The discussion will be centred around the future of humanitarian aviation freight/charter services and last mile delivery. Key topics will include:

  • the need to prepare better for disaster situations and to make interaction between the aid and private sectors faster, fairer and smarter
  • linkages to aid sector preparedness initiatives, such as stockpiling commodities in risk-prone areas
  • the use of new technologies
  • finding common standards.

Keynote speakers will include representatives from Aviation san Frontieres, the European Business Aviation Association and Volga-Dnepr.
