Aviation Sans Frontières – ASF (Aviation Without Borders – AWB) has conducted a need assessment of the humanitarian air transport needs of NGO in Burkina Faso due to the rising insecurity in the region.

This exercise fits into the context of humanitarian aviation that has been outlined at the result of HLA workshops in Brussels (AIDEX 2018) and London (IDR 2018), highlighting the need for humanitarian accountability, stronger inclusion of field-level stakeholders and humanitarian efficiency. It contributes to the development of methodologies for humanitarian need and impact assessment in order to provide tools for Humanitarian Aviation Project Cycle Management.

By doing so, ASF continues to strive to analyze and highlight the specific needs of field NGOs, especially in terms of operational flexibility, so that they can be considered in the programing and financing decision-making process of institutional donors and humanitarian air operators (EC and UN).
