HLA is pleased to announce that Aston University has joined as a corporate member. Founded in 1895 and a University since 1966, Aston is a long established research-led University, known for its world-class teaching quality and strong links to business and the professions.

Its high quality teaching was confirmed by the award of a Gold ranking in the 2018 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) assessment. The School of Engineering and Applied Science is home to the University’s specialised programmes in transport, logistics and supply chain management at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The Aston Logistics & Systems Institute was established in 2016 as a focal point for the University’s research and innovation work in these fields. Humanitarian logistics is a priority research theme for the Institute.

HLA is collaborating with Ed Sweeney, Professor of Logistics and Systems and Director of Aston Logistics & Systems Institute. and Dr Aristides Matopoulos, Reader (Associate Professor) in Supply Chain Design & Logistics Systems at Aston. Both are members of HLA’s Body of Knowledge Project, helping HLA shape the future of knowledge sharing among members and the profession in general.
