“I am very encouraged by the way you guys run the program. It makes it possible for people like me to study and learn - I can manage to take care of the kids and the house, to work, and still study. I love the flexibility and the sense that I am being supported as opposed to being pressured. It is a huge motivation not to disappoint. It has been a really good experience. So, thank you for that. “

Certifications in Humanitarian Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Read  Blog...

The Certification in Humanitarian Logistics (CHL) program was created in collaboration with a multi-agency Advisory Committee to enable humanitarian organizations around the world to strengthen humanitarian assistance through professional training. Certification is comprised of two courses, designed to impact logistics effectiveness at multiple levels within humanitarian organizations.

Using carefully designed learning materials, a real-life case study environment and interactive coaches, candidates are guided through the program by working on specific tasks in each unit. Students demonstrate their competency while simultaneously learning supply chain best practices from the commercial world, academia and the humanitarian community.

  • Built on a competence model, this innovative certification course teaches by doing, giving students valuable hands-on experience from their first assignment.
  • Ideal for logisticians who are either currently working with humanitarian organizations, or want to apply their skills in the humanitarian context.
  • Developed for working professionals in the field, CHL is a supported self-study course that requires nothing more than access to a computer and periodic e-mails.
  • The Certification in Humanitarian Logistics course (CHL), launched in September 2006, teaches the base principles of logistics and supply chain operations in the humanitarian context in order to increase the proficiency and expertise of humanitarian logisticians working at an operational level.
