  George Fenton, Chair

George FENTON

Chairman

George Fenton is the Associate Supply Chain Director, Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs with World Vision International. He is responsible for the global pre-positioning of emergency supplies and facilitates the development of supply-chain management capacity within the organisation. His work includes ongoing support and advice to a number of global WVI programs and has been instrumental in developing supply-chain policy and strategy.

 

 

Bernard Chomilier, WFP

Bernard CHOMILIER

Bernard Chomilier has lead humanitarian responses for most of the major crises around the world over the last 25 years. He is currently working as the Head of the Logistics Development Unit at World Food Programme. Previously, Mr. Chomilier worked as the Head of Logistics for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. He also served as Head of Mission on several occasions and worked as the General Manager of Logistics at Medecins Sans Frontieres.

 

 

Mich Mizushima

Mitsuko "Mich" MIZUSHIMA

Secretary/Treasurer

Mitsuko (Mich) Mizushima serves as Vice President of Business Development at TranSystems Corporation at its San Francisco office where she supports firm’s management and supply chain consulting (MSCC) group. Mizushima brings a wealth of experience in international supply chain management and humanitarian logistics to the role.

Mizushima has over 28 years of competitive international supply chain management experience that has included project management, consulting and strategic planning for both startup environments and large, established organizations. Her background includes raising funds to support the programs with which she works, as well as managing the development of web-based supply chain software that enables humanitarian organizations to reach more people quickly and more efficiently. Her B.A. is from University of Hawaii and MBA from Pepperdine University.

Mizushima is a member of CSCMP, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, and Humanitarian Logistics Association, a professional association dedicated to advancing the professionalism of humanitarian logisticians.

Recently we put together a special edition focusing on the Haiti emergency and the WFP teams remarkable efforts.   It contained stories about the different areas we work in - Aviation, shipping etc.. giving lots of facts and figures about how much food we have moved, how many aircraft we have moblised etc..

FROM THE FIELD: "Update from Santo Domingo -- the 2nd Wave"

It seems "the first wave emergency response" for the Haiti earthquake is over. Two weeks after the disaster, the first-responders who flew in to Haiti will slowly start to demobilize, to be replaced by new staff to stay for the next months. READ MORE HERE...
